LIVE from Expo Dubai 2020. A visit to the Italian Pavilion
The Universal Exposition currently in progress in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, has reached the halfway point. Inaugurated on 1 October 2021, with a one year delay due to the pandemic, the exhibition will remain open until 31 March 2022.
As we told you earlier on our blog, in its role of Silver sponsor of the event, GICO designed and installed the kitchen of the Italian Pavilion, thus consolidating its international position in the Professional Cooking sector and in the supply of custom catering solutions.
Inside the Italian Pavilion, a fully equipped professional kitchen has been set up and installed, overcoming all the logistics challenges, also thanks to the experience of Gruppo Somec in engineering and project management of complex “turnkey” civil and naval projects.
The organisation of the Italian Pavilion – who were seeking a partner that would make it possible to sustain a frenzied work pace – identified in GICO values such as the solid installations, the guaranteed high performance, the reliability of the equipment and Made in Italy design. The GICO working kitchen installed at Expo Dubai 2020 manages hundreds of meals every day, serving visitors all day long, from breakfast to dinner.
Expo Dubai 2020 is extremely successful, with visitors from all over the world. In the first 3 months after inauguration, the Italian Pavilion received over 620 thousand accesses – as confirmed by Il Sole 24 Ore – over a total number of “physical” visitors to the event that reached 800 thousand, in the October-November-December period.
For those people who should be unable to travel to the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the organisation of Expo Dubai 2020 has also provided a platform for the “virtual” visit to the pavilions. This formula has been greatly successful, and in the first 3 months of the fair it “welcomed” 7.5 million virtual users.
GICO looks forward to seeing you at the Italian Pavilion > https://virtualexpodubai.com/al-forsan-park/italy
