We are an Italian company, specialising in creating expansive systems for professional kitchens, part of the Talenta division of the Somec Group. Established in 1971, GICO boasts over half a century of expertise in steel design and processing. Our proficiency extends to meticulously crafting kitchen layouts tailored to suit diverse settings and clientele. 1971

GICO is founded by Luigi Ongaro. Since its establishment, the company has stood out for its construction of robust, high-quality kitchens.

1973

GICO pioneers the design and manufacture of the first modular range of gas and oil cookers. Following that, we introduce the first highly customisable self-service range.

1982

Expansion of the range with steam and mixed ovens. Introducing the market launch of the Series 64 Europa, a compact professional kitchen tailored for the intimate venues of the 'Milano da bere'.

1993

GICO leads the way in certification within the industry. As the industry's frontrunner, GICO was the first to secure the CE mark, alongside ISO and Gost company certifications for exports to the former Soviet Union.

1996

Introducing the inception of our new central and pass-through ranges. Commissioned by Harry's Bar Cipriani in Venice, GICO introduces the first unique sectional grill for express cooking: the exclusive Harry's Kitchen.

2003

GICO pioneers the design and manufacture of the first monoblock: an island kitchen featuring a single worktop, engineered for optimal hygiene and space organisation.

2004

GICO designs and manufactures the double crown burner, boasting the lowest carbon monoxide emissions verified by certifying bodies. A fusion of cutting-edge technology, energy efficiency, and unparalleled performance.

2007

Introducing the Fusion Line single-worktop kitchen, born from the expertise of GICO designers.

2011

A collaboration with an industrial design studio gave rise to the Style Line.

2016

GICO evolves its monoblock kitchen with the introduction of Mia: a fully customisable kitchen Ideal for upscale environments, Mia fulfills the demands of the ever-growing trend towards open-plan kitchens.

2020

GICO joins the SOMEC group. The group is publicly listed and comprises highly specialised companies in engineering, design, and the creation of comprehensive turnkey projects.

2021

GICO commemorates its 50th anniversary with the launch of the H+ Modular Line. Featuring a refreshed design, enhanced durability with a more solid and robust top, and innovative solutions for simplified cleaning and maintenance.

2022

GICO proudly serves as a silver partner of EXPO Dubai and is prominently featured in the catering outlets of the Italian pavilion. In the same year, GICO achieved SASO and UKCA certifications.

2023

GICO is a member of Talenta, a division within the SOMEC group dedicated to professional kitchen systems and products. The goal is to foster a more integrated approach among companies, placing ingenuity and skill at the forefront.
