Dutch Design Week: GICO and CUCINA ITALIANA transform food into art

This year the Dutch Design Week Eindhoven – the largest design event in Northern Europe – has been scheduled with a program, enriched with more artists, installations and events.

GICO equipment together with Cucina Italiana, a display created to spread the Italian culinary culture in Holland, was the main character during three exclusive dinners on October 20th , 21st and 22nd in cooperation with the artist NO CURVES.

Dutch Design Week Eindhoven is year after year evolving and confirming as the reference point for new design trends. Artists and influences arrive from all the world, making the whole city colorful. Edition 2018 was characterized by the fil rouge “Projects and aspect of future design”. Indeed, careful attention was drawn to talented young people.

Dutch Design Week | GICO and Cucina Italiana

GICO and Cucina Italiana share a passion for art in all its forms and participated in the design week together with the artist No Curves.

Food, design and creativity met in the spaces of Cucina Italiana from October 20th to 22nd to merge different forms of art and give rise to an experience that involves all the senses.

Three evenings of “Dinner Experience”: the chef Giovanni Zorzolo and the artist No Curves have ventured into an art installation on the GICO kitchens, in front of the eyes of the participants.

The color of the No Curves’ ribbons and the chef Giovanni Zorzolo’s fresh pasta made by hand with natural ingredients (spinach, tomato, beetroot, chocolate, turmeric and saffron) have involved us into a unique experience. Food becomes more than a simple nourishment for the body, design comes predominantly on the table making shapes, geometries and colors coexist. A true joy just not only for the palate.
