Wednesday October 30th, for the sixth stop of the IN THE KITCHEN TOUR 2019, l’Associazione CHIC travels to Cantina Palmento Costanzo di Castiglione di Sicilia (CT) in Sicily. Coordinating the chefs at this location is Pietro D’Agostino, Chef Patron of starred restaurant La Capinera di Taormina.
Sicily is the third region, after Lombardy and Campania, with the highest number of CHIC affiliates, composed of 13 chefs and one Master baker. A stop in this region – brimming with some of the most esteemed culinary products nation and worldwide – was an absolute must.
Like at every appointment, the CHIC chefs gathered together for an improvised culinary jam session, drawing inspiration from the ingredients made available by our partner businesses.
Chef Pietro d’Agostino, a historic partner and advisor of the association since its start in 2009 moderated the day. The occasion, filled with sharing and experimentation, was also a true party between colleagues and friends who had fun creating with GICO kitchens.
In the evening a fantastic 20 Hands Dinner by chef Pietro D’Agostino of starred restaurant La Capinera di Taormina, Paolo Barrale CHIC President, Giuseppe Bonsignore of L’Oste and the Sacrestano i Licata, Dario Di Liberto of Restaurant Dell’Angelo di Poggio del Sole Resort in Ragusa, Giuseppe Geraci del Modì of Torregrotta, Paolo Romeo of Grecale in Messina, Salvatore Vicari of Ristorante Vicari in Noto, Roberto Pirelli of Ristorante ViDi di Portopalo in Capo Passero, Resident Chef Elia Russo of Ristorante Dodici Fontane at Villa Neri Etna Resort & Spa a Linguaglossa in and Giuseppe Raciti of Zasha Riposto.
10 friends celebrating a region with a vast eno-gastronomic heritage, rich in products that are made unique by the volcanic soil in which they grow.
The last appointment of the tour will take places Tuesday December 3rd in Montone (PG) at Hotel Fortebraccio.
