GICO side by side with haute cuisine: THE CHIC TOUR 2018 IS UNDERWAY!

Once again this year, GICO has chosen to support CHIC – Charming Italian Chef in its mission as ambassador of Italian traditional cooking. The association, founded in 2009, brings together more than 100 extraordinary professionals of the restaurant industry who between them have more than 50 Michelin stars. Chefs rub shoulders with pizza makers, pastry chefs and ice cream and bread makers.
To date, 119 professionals have registered: 109 in Italy and 10 abroad.
The key words, values shared by GICO and the Association, are SIMPLICITY, SUSTAINABILITY and HEALTHINESS.

The second year of the partnership with the Association was announced during the 8th Annual Congress of CHIC, which took place on 9 April in the sumptuous surroundings of the Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa.
The day started with the press conference and the presentation of the new Tour 2018, the new CHIC members and the Association’s sponsors.
It was followed by a lunch for 350 (chefs, companies and journalists). The chefs used GICO appliances to present the recipes they had developed for the buffet. The afternoon saw the presentation of the partners, all of whom focused on the values of experience and craftsmanship. The encounter brought together all aspects of the constantly evolving restaurant industry.
An elegant Gala Dinner rounded off the event, during which the chefs brought local recipes, skills and flavour to the table.

 

The IN THE KITCHEN TOUR goes back on the road

On Monday 16 April, the chefs of the “In the Kitchen Tour” stopped in the Marche region for the first appointment of the year for the B2B circuit. Chef Michele Biagiola opened the doors of his restaurant Signore te ne Ringrazi in Montecosaro.
The “In The Kitchen Tour” format challenges some of the most prominent representatives of haute cuisine to improvise a dish using the ingredients offered by the companies.

My cooking is radical; it harks back to the roots of local culture and customs, and to the traditions of my region”. This passion for his surroundings underlies Michele Biagiola’s decision to host the event that celebrates the extraordinary products of his region and of the whole country.

In this first stage, more than 20 chefs were put to the test in the GICO kitchens, coming up with a recipe using only their inspiration and local products.
In the evening there was another outstanding event, dedicated to all passionate gourmets: La Sagra dei sogni – Bentornata Primavera (The Festival of Dreams – Welcome back, Spring!).

GICO is proud to partner once more with CHIC and assist the extraordinary catering professionals, thrilled to be a part of this series of events that has just begun.
