On Monday 22nd July the third and last appoint before summer holidays of In the kitchen tour took place in Tarvisio, home of chef Ilija Pejic.
Set of this event was the Ilija Golf Club Restaurant, which was opened in 2007 by Ilija Pejic at the Tarvisio Golf Club. Useless to say that the place is situated in the splendid plain of Priesnig, a natural setting of authentic beauty.
The city of Tarvisio is a border city well-known as crossroad of languages and cultures where Italy, Slovenia and Austria meet. For this reason, Ilija Pejic – Croatian by birth, Italian by adoption – moved by the desire for comparison and passion for experimentation and research, wanted to host Italian, Austrian and Slovenian colleagues and companies of excellence in the territory for a day of culinary improvisation.
Immense natural spaces and deep green golf courses have been the background for the GICO kitchens which, as always, have been an important ally for all the chefs involved in the culinary jam-session.
During the evening, the Ilija restaurant hosted a “8-hand-border dinner“, during which Chef Ilija Pejic cooked together with Chris Oberhammer – the Tilia restaurant in Dobbiaco – Marco Da Rin Bettina – from the Mondschein restaurant in Sappada – and Antonio Strammiello – from the Hotel Schloss Sonnenburg in Castelbadia. Every course was a mix of flavors of the sea and of the Dolomites.
Experimentation and avant-garde, internationalization and contamination, GICO and CHIC towards the same goal.
The CHIC tour now takes a short break and invites you to Casale Monferrato (AL), at Cascina Faletta 1881 in September.
