GICO’s stand on the importance of training

03 September 2021

Throughout its 50 years of activity, GICO has always considered training fundamental. One of the values we share with our partners, dealers and customers is the use of continuous study and research to valorise the Made in Italy label in the food and beverage industry.

In the second decade of the 2000s, we created our own GICO Academy, a training area for chefs and customers covering technologies and the proper use of equipment, designed to provide an opportunity to see our products and solutions for the food and beverage trade at first hand.

Now GICO has transferred its training activities outside the company, choosing to create links with educational structures where young chefs can specialise.

GICO for VILLA TERZAGHI

We are absolutely convinced that the young talent of Italian cuisine must be recognised and encouraged.  For this reason, since 2021 we have been partners with the Associazione Maestro Martino and the Villa Terzaghi project, founded and presided over by Chef Carlo Cracco in a teaching restaurant and cookery school at Robecco sul Naviglio in the Milan countryside.  Here young talented cooks from all over Italy can learn to excel in their trade.

Through the project, young chefs have the opportunity to improve basic skills with the most important Italian protagonists of contemporary cuisine, bread-making, pastry-making and beyond. This course is an important step that transforms and completes the more classical curriculum of the hotel management and catering schools, with a more practical and experiential approach to using professional kitchen equipment and coming into direct contact with the clientele.

We have placed our kitchens at the disposal of this training project, to give these young cooks, promising but at the outset of their careers, the opportunity to work in complete safety with highly professional equipment that provides perfect efficiency in processing food, assures low consumption and assists greatly at all preparation stages, during dining room service and with kitchen cleaning operations at the end of the day.

THE VALUE OF TRAINING

We are taking part in this project because for us at GICO valorisation of talent and our culinary tradition is an important asset to be passed on to aspiring young chefs. We have always upheld that it takes constant hard work, study, research and revision to fully develop potential.

Our products are a perfect example of this: every piece of GICO equipment is the result of in-depth studies of technology and design so that we can meet our customers’ requirements with ad hoc solutions.

Our customers choose us not only for the quality of our products, but also for our pre-sales service, where they can see a 3D layout of their planned kitchen, as well as experience ‘hands-on’ the efficiency of our equipment with guided tours of our facilities.

TRAINING WITH GICO PRODUCTS

For 50 years GICO has been working side by side with its customers through every step of their projects. The care we take with our work not only results in the creation of the perfect product, but also involves training the customer in the use of our equipment, including learning how to clean the kitchen area, and constant post-installation refresher courses to optimise the equipment’s performance.

We will be taking all our values, including our focus on training, to Host Milano 2021, Italy’s most important trade event, to be held from 22 to 26 October 2021. We’d love to see you on stand H29 L30, Hall 1.
